Basic Eligibility Criteria

Every applicant — regardless of the post applied for — must satisfy all of the following basic conditions in addition to the specific qualifications for each position:

  • Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka
  • Age: 22–45 years as of the application closing date (08 May 2026). The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the post and be of excellent moral character.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of Transitional Justice are considered added advantages.
  • Applicants currently serving in government or semi-government institutions must forward applications through their respective Heads of Institutions.
  • All qualifications must be completed by the application closing date — qualifications still in progress will not be accepted.
  • If applying for more than one post, a separate application must be submitted for each.

🎯 Selection Process

The selection method varies by grade and post. Most managerial-grade posts are filled through a Structured Interview only, while officer and assistant-level posts require a written competitive examination followed by a Structured Interview. The Driver post includes a Trade Test.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply for more than one post?+
Yes, you may apply for more than one post. However, a separate, fully completed application must be submitted for each post. A single application cannot cover multiple positions.
What is the upper age limit and are there exceptions?+
Applicants must be between 22 and 45 years of age as of 08 May 2026. The upper age limit of 45 years does not apply to internal candidates — those already serving within the Office for Reparations.
Where are the Reparations Officer posts located?+
The six Reparations Officer posts (MA-3) are based in field locations — specifically Trincomalee, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Puttalam, Matara, and Hambantota. All other posts are based at the Colombo Head Office.
What is the salary range for managerial-grade posts?+
Managerial grade (MM 1-1) posts — covering the three Assistant Director/Deputy Director roles and the Internal Auditor — carry a 2025 salary scale of Rs. 91,690 rising to Rs. 168,240, as per Management Service Circular 01/2025 dated 25.03.2025.
Is the Secretary to the Board post permanent?+
No. The Secretary to the Board is appointed on a two-year contract basis. It does, however, include EPF and ETF entitlements. The monthly allowance is Rs. 83,433 in 2026 and Rs. 90,450 from 2027 onwards.
Do I need to send original certificates with my application?+
No. Send copies of all relevant certificates only. Retain your original documents. The Office for Reparations may request originals for verification at a later stage if you are shortlisted.
