Background: Why Was This Revision Made?

The previous allowance rates, introduced under the 2017 circular framework, had remained unchanged for several years. The Rs. 1,500 increase across all school categories reflects the government's commitment to keeping educators' compensation aligned with the cost of living and the demands of school leadership.

Who Is Eligible for the Revised Allowance?
The Ministry circular specifies that the revised allowance is payable to the following categories of officers in the Sri Lanka Principals' Service:
- Officers in Grade III of the Sri Lanka Principals' Service
- Officers in Grade II of the Sri Lanka Principals' Service
- Officers in Grade I of the Sri Lanka Principals' Service

- Officers officially appointed to act in principal posts
